My collection is inspired by The Paris Syndrome which is “a feeling of disappointment exhibited by some people when visiting Paris, who feel that the city was not what they expected. The condition is commonly seen as a severe form of culture shock.”
Coming from Mexico, I wanted to recreate a collection that reflected my ideals regarding Paris, but also Europe in general.
We idealize Paris as a kind of perfect place where everything revolves around fashion, haute couture and perfection. When you arrive you have a culture clash between your hyper high ideals with the reality of a big city like Paris and its realities where perfection could be close, but not exactly…
