Felix Boehm created a collection for the 'working housewife' of the 21st century, inspired by different Tv- shows like 'The Real Housewives of...' and Desperate Housewives , in which rich housewives are being idolized as bitchy and businesslike icons of today.. Rich and fabulous, they need different outfits for the morning, business lunches, cocktail parties and evening dinners. This results in a mix of tailored suits, puffy cocktail skirts and long dresses and tuxedo jackets for the night. What lies beneath the surface of these pastel and candy-frosted colours is a darker element of a restrictive sexuality, of bondage and S&M elements. The housewife'a apron becomes a butcher's apron resulting in deep, bloodred colours, combined with metal rings, chokers and belts. In a contemporary take on S&M, dominance and power plays, Felix Boehm presents us with the duality of the housewife as a businesswoman, between sweet femininity with a topping of whipped cream and a power-hungry dominatrix with a whip.
