PROJECTS +1 MAGAZINE: Created by the final year students. The 17 final year students have teamed up with 17 established Belgian designers for a project presented in +1 magazine. The magazine will be distributed internationally and is for sale during the show. more info : + ONE DVD SHOW 2006: Recorded, broadcasted and burnt on DVD in high definition quality by EURO 1080. L'OREAL PROFESSIONAL CATWALK SHOW: Filomena Saltarelli, Marc Philippe Coudeyre, Laurence Bruyninckx, Peter Bertsch, Marion Michel, Didier Vandevorst and Taro Horiuchi show their collections during an event organised by L’Oréal Professionnel in Brussels. ROADSHOW ON FLANDERS: Work by students will be presented in a show under the direction of Rudolf Werthen for the Mission in China, headed by Fientje Moerman, Minister of Economic Affairs and Foreign Trade. ARTE FASHION EVENT: Event organised in Paris by the cultural television channel Arte showing collections by Filomena Saltarelli, Lenny Leleu, Annette Kölling, Lluis Corujo Besga, Peter Bertsch and Nadine Möllenkamp. CHARITY IN FLORENCE: Akiko Murata, Vladimir Lazarevic and Marisa Leipert take part in a workshop followed by an auction for the benefit of the Fondazione Dominique Lapierre Calcutta. MITTELMODA: Raul Elgoff Alcaide enters the Mittelmoda Awards and wins the Shirt Avenue Award. IT'S FOUR: Demna Gvasalia is member of the jury. As main winner of ITS in 2004 and guest of honour he shows his third year collection. Christoph Froelich wins the Diesel Award, Marga Weimans the iD-Award and Eli Effenberger the Maria Luisa Award. EXIHIBITIONS: An initiative of the FFI, this annual exhibition of historical costumes is organised in the MoMu gallery. IFF: The students of the first master degree collaborated on a project with International Flavors and Fragrances to create an individual concept for perfume. VITRINE: The FFI offers all final year students the opportunity to show their collections in September during “Vitrine 2006”. |
EUROPEAN FASHION AWARDS: The Fashion department was guest of honour during this third edition of the European Fashion Awards, which took place in Rimini. There was an exhibition of denim dresses by first year students. Jae Kuen Hwang won a European Fashion Award. Filomena Saltarelli and Raul Elgoff Alcaide entered the competition as well. Demna Gvasalia presented his collection as promising new talent. IT'S FIVE : Marisa Leipert, Heaven Tanudiredja, Nadine Möllenkamp, Ann Torfs and Mikio Sakabe have been nominated for It’s Five and Natalia Culebras Cruz for It’s Five Accessories, to take place in Trieste in July. Her strong personality, her optimism and her passion for fashion made an unforgettable impression on everyone who met her. The award goes to the most talented designer. FLANDERS FASHION INSTITUTE AWARD is given to: Demna Gvasalia An amount of 600 euro goes to a promising student with a remarkable collection. www.ffi.be S-PRINT AWARD is given to: Laurence Bruyninckx The award will be presented to a third year student working with colourful designs and hand-made prints on textile.
